Is Poly-fil heatproof?

I'm making an oven mitt and have Polyfil batting to go inside. I'm wondering though if it will melt or react badly with heat. It says it is "flame retardant" and "100% Premium Polyester". This is for a friend, and I really want to make sure that she doesn't get hurt because of my lack of attention. Thanks!
