Can an LLC hold a stake in a general partnership?

Last year I started an LLC for my web design business. Now me and several friends are going to be starting a small investment club and will be forming a general partnership. I am more interested in building my LLC, so is it possible to have it hold a stake in the general partnership? It would just be replacing me as an individual.
