Fellow Teachers - What is your School Sickness Policy?

I'm not a teacher, but a mom of a non-verbal autistic child. Our school policy is the same as yours, but I do not send my child when he has any symptoms of illness. I know there is close contact, and kids in my son's cl will put something in their mouth and another child will get it before a teacher even sees it. On the flip side, though, I have gotten in trouble for him missing too much school because the school's funding is based partially on attendance. Seems like every time I send him back after a break, he gets sick.
